Should the arts be included in STEM curricula?
John Maeda, president of the Rhode Island School of Design, advocates in this blog post for the addition of the letter "A" -- for art -- to STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and math. To meet national goals for the improvement of a STEM workforce, Maeda writes that integrating arts into the STEM curriculum will help bolster innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving.
